Analysis of wind action at the Dubrovnik bridge

Bernardin Peroš, Ivica Boko, Tihomir Šimunović

Abstract

The wind action at the Dubrovnik bridge is analyzed based on the data obtained from two sources: first source of data are those obtained by direct measurement of the direction and speed of wind at the bridge location, and the other data are the results obtained in wind tunnel. The bridge reliability analysis, highly dependant on a variety of data about wind action, is presented. In conclusion, it is emphasized that wind tunnel testing data are not sufficient, and that they must be complemented with on site measurements. The latter can additionally be used as an information significant for development of Croatian standards.
